Celebration of 150 years of National Song "Vande Mataram"
Shiksha Valley School proudly celebrated 150 years of “Vande Mataram,” the timeless National Song of India composed by Shri Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay. On 7th November, a wave of patriotism swept through the campus as students, teachers, and non‑teaching staff gathered to pay tribute to this historic hymn and its glorious 150‑year legacy. The celebration commenced with an insightful address by our PGT faculty, Biswabir Chatterjee, who illuminated the legacy of “Vande Mataram” and its pivotal role in India’s independence movement. He recounted anecdotes of how the song ignited the spirit of freedom among countless Indians, inspiring reverence for the motherland in every heart present. Following his talk, Director Sri S. P. Suresh urged the students to greet one another with “Vande Mataram” as a simple yet powerful practice to nurture the value of patriotism and love for our motherland. The entire school then came together in a soulful, unison rendition of the National Song, its verses reverberating across classrooms, corridors, and courtyards, filling the atmosphere with pride and unity. The celebration culminated with a rousing chorus of “Bharat Mata Ki Jai!” echoing across the campus, leaving everyone with a renewed sense of devotion to India. The day’s events reinforced Shiksha Valley School’s commitment to fostering national pride and cultural heritage among its young learners.
